Meet Artsy Rose
Kimberly Scott, a.k.a. Artsy Rose, has been passionate about art since she could hold a crayon. Born and raised in Oklahoma, she graduated from UCO with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Education. She has been employed as a certified Art educator by the Putnam City School District since 2006. She was recognized as her school’s “Teacher of the Year” in 2013 – 2014, and the Downtown Rotary Teacher of the Month in January, 2015. Kimberly spent every school break – summer, fall, winter and spring – teaching at various local art studios throughout her college career and has continued to do so during her public school teaching tenure. Kimberly knows art is not only fun, but it is also a great catalyst to a better understanding of all school subjects and wonderful way to express creativity and uniqueness. Kimberly has chosen to open Artsy Rose to share her passion for art with people of all ages.

Hi, I’m Vicki Clark and I’m the Art Teacher for Will Rogers Elementary in the Putnam City School district. I enjoy my students very much. My career as and Art Teacher guarantees that I never experience a dull moment and I get to smile and laugh with my students each & every day. I serve about 480 students each week, it’s an art making whirlwind, but I love it! I graduate from the University of Central Oklahoma earning a Bachelors of Fine Arts majoring in Art Education. I have been teaching for 8 years, Besides my passion of Art, I enjoy spending time with family and friends reading, serving in my church and of course creating my own art whenever I can.
Leah Dean Thomas came to art education the long way around. While she’s loved creating and designing since childhood, Leah spent several years in the English classroom (high school, middle school, and as a TA while earning an MFA in creative writing) before she became certified in art. As the art teacher for D.D. Kirkland Elementary, she enjoys sharing her love of both art and literacy with the amazing young artists she teaches every day, and she’s thrilled to be able to share that passion with her new classes at Artsy Rose!
